Rating Criteria
I want to share with my readers the criteria that I am planning to use for rating the restaurants that I review. I will look at all the restaurants according to the following four criteria.
- Food Quality
- Service
- Price
- Atmosphere
While the argument could be made to add other factors, I want to provide simple, easy to relate to reviews and decided that the above four categories are probably what people care about most.

Welcome
Welcome to my space on the web! I look forward to sharing my reviews and thoughts on independent restaurants around the country.
I want to start off by sharing a little bit about myself. I grew up in Philadelphia, spent a few years in Washington D.C. getting my BA in History, and now am working on a MEd. in Higher Education in Ohio. I have always been a big foodie and during my time in Washington D.C. I realized what many people realize; that chain restaurants on the whole offer sub-par service and food in comparison to independent restaurants.
It was at that point that I decided I would strive to not eat at chain restaurants. Over the past 4 years I have dined at numerous independent restaurants and always find myself comparing them to others I have dined at. One thing that has frustrated me continually is how hard it is to actually find quality independent restaurants that come recommended. And that is where this blog comes in.
I hope this blog serves a few purposes: as a resource for folks who are looking for some quality independent restaurants, a place for folks to share their experiences, and a forum to promote the often struggling independent restaurant.
